You no longer have to stay at the elegant but pricey Malibu Beach Inn to enjoy the fine cuisine at their fabulous beachside restaurant.  The interior dining room is stylish and  welcoming but the patio above the sand, on exclusive Carbon Beach, is the place to be on this unusually balmy September evening.  The small and tantalizing menu features California Coastal cuisine with a splash of Pacific Rim’s delicacies.   The wild salmon with artichoke hearts, roasted tomatoes and salsa verde, crab cakes, and excellent Caesar salad  are all prepared to perfection.   The select menu includes spicy barbecue shrimp quesadilla, lobster salad and grilled New York steak. The wine list is a bit short on wines under $100, however there are several good California offerings at under $50 such as a Jordan Syrah.  The service is leisurely (allowing diners time to enjoy the view and ambiance) yet attentive enough to satisfy the more impatient patron.  Treat yourself and someone special to this exciting new addition to the  Malibu dining scene and savor the experience.
