Malibu Local News of the Week

“Good news/bad news and something in between”!

img_4370Special offer (say “Gracee” sent you)

This spring, after a physically brutal move lugging things up what seemed like a “zillion” steps, I ached from the neck down .  When I saw this ad in the Malibu Times I immediately made my “911” phone call to Jessica of Balancing Touch.

Jessica arrived at my home shortly thereafter and gave me the best deep tissue massage I have experienced here in Malibu.  She has skilled hands, a calm demeanor and heavenly music. The first massage is $100 for 90 minutes so it is a win/win to give “Balancing Touch” a try. (310) 429-1068 to phone or text.   Coming soon hot lava shells with all massages and a body scrub service!!

Ralph’s Ends its Recycling Program in Malibu

I just learned Ralph’s is getting rid of their recycling machines and will no longer take empty bottle back inside the store.  This is bad news since there is not another place locally where you can redeem bottles for your CVS.

Good news is, behind Ralph’s in Agoura Hills  is a Replanet Recycle Center  at 5727 Kanan Rd (enter via back alley on Thousand Oaks Blvd). So load up your trunk and next time you are running errands drop your empty glass, cans and bottles at Replanet and get your CRV .

Charter Spectrum

This is, not surprisingly the “BAD”.   Charter is trying to manipulate customers moving locally into transferring their cable and internet accounts in lieu of  closing them. They attempt to lure you in with the inexpensive $9.00 transfer fee vs the higher new install fee (which varies by your order).  However, if you close your current account and open a new account you will be eligible for various promo rates again that easily wipe out the “savings” of a transfer.  Because if you take your current account to your new residence as soon as the continuing year is up on it, your rates will skyrocket!  Example, I went from $113 a month to $186!!  I was able to get it down to $156 by going to our local office but that is still a considerable price increase. Below is the email for the consumer department of the CPUC. Please take a moment to let them know how you feel about this consumer scam and Charter service in general. nathan.christo@@cpuc.ca.gov. These agency is our advocate.

Have a good week!
